Pyjama party!

Karen’s invitation to a pyjama party with everyone across the world was just too exciting to miss.

I chose to use a pattern from Burda 131-11-2009 as it was just there on the shelf. My fabric is flannelette from Spotlight – cost about $15. The top is an old T-shirt not made by me.

I am new to blogging but if all goes well with this post – I aim to record my sewing adventures and hopefully see an improvement over time.

  1. Lovely pjs, the fit looks relaxed and the legs are not too wide. It’s a fit that I would like to achieve as I am thinking of modifying my pj pattern to make some pants for wearing out. I read your “who am I” post and I identify with what you wrote in your 4th paragraph as I am facing the same physical changes and it is getting more difficult to find clothes that fit me in shops. I look forward to following your sewing adventures on your blog 🙂

  2. That is a fabulous pair of pjs. Great taste and fabric choice. I love the design of your brand new blog, also. I’m looking forward to seeing what more you make! Thank you so much for joining the party.

  3. Wow!!! Thanks Erin – I never expected anybody out there to find my blog so soon.
I think your pyjama pants are really wonderful and ‘Happy’ looking. I think my next pair is going to have colours – lots of colours just like yours. Something to brighten the day – or give you wonderful dreams!!

  4. Found you! I am a new blogger too, (well, new-ish, first post January 7 this year. Isn’t it fun and a lift when someone finds your blog and actually comments? I started blogging so I would be motivated to sew more and it has worked. Hope it works for you too.

    Cute jammies.

    • Hi Elle – I am totally bowled over. I never thought other people would notice my blog so quickly. Thank you for your reply and wonderful comment. Yes it is exciting when someone finds your blog and actually comments. 🙂 big smile.

  5. Hello! I’m new to blogging too, so I thought I’d say hi! Hasn’t this sewalong been fun? I really like your fabric, the PJs look great! I look forward to seeing what you make next.

    • Hello Tessa – thank you for your great comment. The PJ party was a wonderful idea from Karen and I am looking forward to writing and showing a few more things that I have made but never had the courage to show anybody else. I Love your photos from Tuscany, the walk must have been fantastic. I love walking too. Did a 2,000 km walk here in Western Australia late last year.

  6. Found you from the pj party too 🙂 I usually just read blogs and just comment sometimes, but I really do like your PJs fabric choice a lot 🙂 Really lovely!

    • Thank you for your nice comment. I actually like your choice of fabric too and isn’t it nice to have plenty of room to wriggle? Malaysia to mid US – you must have had quite a lot of adjustments to fit into what I imagine must be a totally different kind of life?

    • Thank you – wow your fabric is fabulous and your jamies look great on you. I am also very impressed with your bed jumping woo-hoo! I have to come back to your post on shopping in Japan as I will be going there later in the year.

    • Thanks a lot Ginger. I have been away and out of reach of any computer for 10 days. Sorry to have taken so long to reply. I am now busy catching up on all the blogs I follow.

  7. Great PJ’s and from Spotlight as well, looks like I need to dig deeper amongst the piles of fabric. Found you via My Fabrication, look forward to seeing your Beignet Skirt. Welcome to blogging it is a lot of fun 🙂

    • Hi Sharon
Thank you very much for your comment. I have been following you for a few months now and love your creations. Yes, I must get into blogging about my sewing activities. I intended to start at the beginning of the year, but whilst some sewing did happen the blogging didn’t. Perhaps I can do some posts looking back at the first 5 months of the year. I voted for you in the SWAP competition and congratulations on winning – well deserved.
